Sharp Art Takes Clem McSpadden Memorial at Will Rogers

Bryan Foster’s Sharp Art made a successful debut against stakes company on Tuesday at Will Rogers Downs as he rolled to a 1 ¾-length win in the $51,850 Clem McSpadden Memorial Route 66 Stakes. Ridden by Joe Johnson for trainer Brad Cox, the 4-year-old Kentucky-bred gelding by Sharp Humor clocked six furlongs in 1:10.66.

Sharp Art is now a winner of five of 15 career starts with earnings of $153,820. He shipped into Will Rogers off an allowance/optional claiming victory at Oaklawn.

George W. Straw Jr.’s Johnny Whip, an Oklahoma-bred by Stephen Got Even, finished second to improve his lifetime record to 53-14-11-8 with earnings of $428,669. James and Colleen Willms’ Yonaguska Boy, also an Oklahoma-bred, ran third.
