Grade 1 winner El Corredor, sire of Six Grade 1 Winners, 14 graded stakes winners, 34 stakes winners and the earners of more than $34 million, will relocated from Louisiana to stand in Turkey for the 2015 breeding season.

El Corredor has been purchased by Mr. Tevfik Celikoglu in a deal negotiated by David Tillson of Copper Crown Stallion Station in Opelousas, Louisiana, Marie Yoshida of Winchester Farm in Lexington, Kentucky and Jean-Pierre Deroubaix, FBA, France.

Marie Yoshida commented, “El Corredor will continue his fantastic career in Turkey and Mr. Tevfik Celikoglu once again added a wonderful proven sire to the Turkish stallion ranks. The Turkish Thoroughbred breeders fully appreciate the quality of El Corredor, and he will cover some of their best mares in the years to come.”

El Corredor, who won the Cigar Mile Handicap (G1) in New York, sired Adieu (Frizette S., G1, Delaware Oaks, G2, Spinaway S., G2), Backseat Rhythm (Garden City S. G1, Lake Placid S. G2, Hillsborough S. G3), Dominican (Toyota Bluegrass S. G1), Crisp (Santa Anita Oaks, G1, Santa Ysabel S., G3), El Viento (three-time G1 winner and Champion) and El Biologo (multiple G1 winner).

Arguably Mr. Greeley’s best son at stud, El Corredor is a half brother to Classic sire Roman Ruler (G1 winner) and young sire Maimonides (G1-placed), as well as the G3-winning filly Silver Tornado. Their dam, the “blue hen” Silvery Swan, is by Silver Deputy out of a prolific female family.
