Equine Sales Company has announced a supplement of horses of racing age owned by Keith and Ginger Myers’ Coteau Grove Farms to be added to the Consignor Select Yearling Sale on September 3. The 11 horses, which are consigned by Select Sales, agent, will go through the ring after the 233 yearlings catalogued for the auction in Opelousas, Louisiana.
Among the Coteau Grove horses in the sale is stakes winner Afternoon Tango, a 4-year-old filly by Afternoon Deelites who captured the Louisiana Cup Filly and Mare Sprint Stakes on August 2 at Louisiana Downs. Her career earnings stand at $178,600 with a record of 11-6-2-0. The other stakes horses include 2-year-olds Union Builder, a Yankee Gentleman gelding who won the D.S. “Shine” Young Futurity at Evangeline Downs, and Coteau Rouge, a colt by Tale of the Cat who has placed in three stakes events. Also set to go through the ring is the promising juvenile Chocopologie, a colt by leading stallion Candy Ride (Arg) who finished a fast-closing third in this August 7 debut at Evangeline. Chocopologie is the first starter out of the multiple graded stakes placed Mineshaft mare Highest Class. The consignment also includes racing age offspring of Half Ours, Giacomo, Bellamy Road, Good and Tough, Exchange Rate, Eskendereya and Unbridled’s Song.
“The Coteau Grove Farms name has been synonymous with success in Louisiana breeding and racing, so we are pleased and gratified that Keith and Ginger Myers decided to put this significant offering in our auction,” said Sales Director Foster Bridewell. “Our catalogue already includes what I believe to be the strongest offering we’ve ever had, and this supplement will give buyers a chance to get a race-ready Louisiana-bred while shopping for yearlings.”
The Coteau Grove Farms supplement, along with the entire yearling catalogue, is available online at www.equinesalesofla.com, and printed copies of the supplement will be available this week. For more information, call (337) 678-3024.
