A horse named Shobiz Superstar gave her backers enough money in their pockets Saturday night at Remington Park to put them into a tax bracket fit for superstars as she paid off at 110-1 odds, the highest payoff of the meet.
A $2 win ticket returned $223 to those who bet this 2-year-old filly, owned and bred by Terry Westemeir of Broken Arrow, Okla. The highest payout all-time at Remington Park on a $2 win ticket was $284.60 when Van Nistelrooy Gal won on Oct. 21, 2010.
Shobiz Superstar, a daughter of Nobiz Like Shobiz, out of the Prospector’s Music mare In the Band, is trained by Kari Craddock and was ridden by Leandro Goncalves in tonight’s sixth race, a one-mile maiden allowance race on the main track. Shobiz Superstar had only two starts lifetime and she had trouble getting out of a gallop in those tries, finishing eighth twice, 17-1/4 lengths back and 11-3/4 lengths back of the winner in each race, but they were both on the turf course. She woke up on the main surface and cruised home a winner, holding off Okie Footnote (5-2 odds) by three-quarters of a length.
The win that had bells and whistles going off in her backers’ heads keyed several exotic wager payoffs of $1,000 or more. Remington Park had started the 46th racing night with payouts of four-figures or more 93 times. That increased to 101 times as there were eight exotic wagers worth $1,000 or more on Saturday night.

· #97 – Race 6 – 10-cent superfecta (5-3-6-11 at odds of 110-1, 5-2, 10-1, 15-1) paid $9,940.50
· #98 – Race 6 – 50-cent Pick 3 – races 4 thru 6 (1-4-5 at odds of 4-1, 3-2, 110-1) paid $1,072
· #99 – Race 7 – 50-cent Pick 3 – races 5 thru 7 (4-5-4 at odds of 3-2, 110-1, 6-1) paid $1,234.75
· #100 – Race 8 – 50-cent Pick 3 – races 6 thru 8 (5-4-10 at odds of 110-1, 6-1, 2-1) paid $1,086.20
· #101 – Race 9 – 50-cent Pick 4 – races 6 thru 9 (5-4-10-11 at odds of 110-1, 6-1, 2-1, 5-2) paid $11,820.75. It was the third-highest payout of the meet for the Primetime Pick 4. One ticket paid $78,877.05 on Oct. 19, and another returned $12,963.75 on Aug. 30.
