OTBO Sale Deadline Extended Until October 27

The Ohio Thoroughbred Breeders & Owners have announced that they will be extending the date for sale entries to Friday, October 27. The mixed sale will be held Sunday, December 3 at Majestic Farm in Batavia, Ohio starting at 1:00 p.m.

“I think it is going strong at this point,” said Dan Mahaney, whose sales company is helping to manage the venue. “This will leave the window open for horses coming out of the soon to be concluded Kentucky sales. There is interest in the regional programs, especially if the horses present themselves well. We just finished the Indiana sale and the gross doubled from last year.”

“We are getting calls from interested parties inquiring if a horse needs to be a Ohio-bred to be in the sale, which is not the case,” stated the O.T.B.O. executive director John Engelhardt. “This sale is open to all horses of all ages. We were very pleased to see a producing daughter of the world’s leading sire Tapit entered in foal to Ohio’s 2017 leading money-winning stallion.”

Dynatap (Tapit), a 9-year-old mare out of the stakes-winning Storm Creek mare Stormin’ Daina, has produced multiple winner August Lilly, a recent winner at Gulfstream Park. She has an unraced 2-year-old filly by Run Away and Hide and this season she foaled a colt by Run Away and Hide that is a registered Ohio-bred. She will sell in foal to Grade 2 stakes winner Cowtown Cat who stands at Mapleton Farm in Polk, Ohio. Mapleton will be the consignor of Dynatap.
