Stormquility Upsets Wilma Mankiller Stakes at Will Rogers

Stormquility pulled off a minor upset on Monday at Will Rogers Downs with a victory in the $50,850 Wilma Mankiller Memorial Stakes at odds of 6-1. Trained by Tim Willians and owned Steve and Stacy Uhland and Barry Koch, the Kentucky-bred daughter of After Market prevailed by 1 ¼ lengths with Curtis Kimes aboard for a six-furlong trip in 1:10.88.

Stormquility also won the 2014 George Wafer Memorial Stakes at Arapahoe Park, and this win boosted her earnings to $108,921 with a record of 18-4-3-3.

Magnificent Margo, a shipper from Delta Downs, finished second with even-money favorite More Than Even in third. Oklahoma-bred More Than Even, winner of last year’s Wilma Mankiller Memorial, improved her lifetime earnings to $563,087 with the effort.
