Accomplished sire Sweet Return (GB), the three-time Grade 1 winner owned by the Red Oak Farm of John J. Brunetti Sr., will stand the 2016 breeding season at Indiana’s Nicks Farm, located in the rolling hill country 15 miles north of Churchill Downs in nearby Kentucky.
The upcoming breeding year will be the 9th season at stud for the British-bred son of Elmaaul out of the winning Claude Monet mare Sweet Revival. Sweet Return’s offspring have accounted for 15 victories in 2015 and they won 16 races in 2014, including a runaway score by the first-out 2-year-old colt Wildling at Del Mar.
On the racetrack, Sweet Return won the Hollywood Derby (G1-T) at 3, the Frank E. Kilroe Mile Handicap (G2-T) and San Marcos Stakes (G2-T) at 4, and the Eddie Read (G1-T) and Charles Whittingham Memorial (G1-T) Handicaps at 5. Overall, Sweet Return won 8 races, earned $1,801,377, and posted 18 triple-digit Beyer figures.

There’s plenty of turf racing in the area and that plays into Sweet Return’s breeding strength.”
