First issue of Southern Racehorse magazine now available online

Southern Racehorse magazineThe inaugural issue of Southern Racehorse magazine is currently being printed and will be mailed shortly to all members of the Texas Thoroughbred Association (TTA) and Thoroughbred Racing Association of Oklahoma (TRAO). With a circulation of more than 4,000, Southern Racehorse is the largest Thoroughbred racing and breeding publication in the region.

The first issue features a look at the incredible history of racing at Texas’ Gillespie County Fairgrounds going back more than 100 years and a story about 26-year-old Clever Trevor, the Oklahoma-bred millionaire who is still enjoying retirement. The issue also includes a profile of leading trainer Karl Broberg, important information about West Nile virus in the region and advice on preventing a variety of stable vices. The TTA and TRAO have also provided membership updates, and every issue of Southern Racehorse includes photos of stakes winners at Texas and Oklahoma tracks and for Texas-bred and Oklahoma-bred horses.
