There’s still a chill in the air but it’s never too early to start thinking about the Kentucky Derby to be run on the first Saturday in May at historic Churchill Downs in Louisville, Kentucky. So Game Winner is an obvious pick, but he’s also likely to be a pretty short price.
If you are looking for a hot horse who might be a bit of a price, Gray Attempt might be a good choice. He is a little light on experience, but he looked good winning the Smarty Jones Stakes at Oaklawn and also has a winning race at Churchill as he broke his maiden there last year.
Another horse with Gray in his name merits a look, and that’s Gunmetal Gray. The colt ran a decent fifth behind Game Winner in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile and then won the Sham Stakes at Santa Anita.
